The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters has been chosen to host the world’s first Raising the Bar Entrepreneurship event.
This follows the great success of Raising the Bar, an event which is held in major cities around the world including Sydney, New York and London and that NPSP has hosted since it brought it to Adelaide for the first time in 2018.
Mayor of the City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters, Robert Bria, said: “The City of Norwood Payneham & St Peters is the perfect location for Raising the Bar Entrepreneurship. The wide variety of industries spread across our City creates a healthy ecosystem for business. This combined with our City’s diverse culture and strong sense of community provides exciting opportunities for start-ups and enables businesses to grow and flourish.”
Raising the Bar Entrepreneurship will see ten prominent figures in the business community take to the stage in five welcoming bars and pubs in the east of Adelaide to present leading-edge ideas and share stories of business success and failure.
“Learning can often be costly,” said Mayor Bria. “Raising the Bar events are free to attend and open learning up to everyone. The settings are friendly and relaxed and audiences have the opportunity to hear from leading experts and ask questions.”
The talks cover a myriad of topics to educate and inspire. Amongst others, Doug Adamson, will talk about ways to attract funding from a number of different sources, Dr Andrew MacDonald, will explain how a creative mindset can be leveraged to drive innovation, Tom Rayner will take you through the exciting changes that have defined the new space age and Leila Henderson will explain the importance of reputation and the power of media communication in her talk ‘Where Business Funding Meets Spin’.
Raising the Bar Entrepreneurship takes place on Tuesday 1 October and is free to attend. Talks will be held at 6.30pm and 8.30pm at: The Alma, The Colonist, Little Bang Brewery, The Maid and The Republic.
