RTI hits road

RTI hits the road

The City of Logan is dedicated to fostering a new era of openness and transparency.

Right to Information (RTI) is a central part of Council’s commitment to delivering accountable government.

RTI requests allow ordinary citizens to access Council information that is in the public interest.

However for some people the process can be confusing which is why Council is hitting the road to bring RTI to you.

Six roadshows are being held throughout the city to promote awareness of RTI procedures and hand out information on how to make a request.

Council’s Interim Administrator Tamara O’Shea said RTI is a fundamental right in an open, democratic society.

“I believe that open and accountable governments produce the best outcomes for people,” Ms O’Shea said.

“That’s why I support RTI and I encourage everyone to come along to one of our roadshows to find out how you can participate in the business of government.”

The 10th anniversary of current RTI legislation will be celebrated in Queensland on Saturday, September 28.
