Saleyards roof ahead of schedule

The Horsham Regional Livestock Exchange Roof construction is progressing ahead of schedule.

Horsham Rural City Council project manager Sue Newall said work was about four to six weeks ahead of time, with all of the steel framework now up.

“The roof has five stages with the structural steel for the final stage having been completed in early June,” Ms Newall said.

“Four of the five stages now have roof sheeting installed which includes skylights for natural lighting. Under-roof lights have been installed across the five stages and are fully operational.

“Box gutters and stormwater pipes have been installed on stages 1-3, with storage and fire tanks to be installed soon,” she said.

Solar panels (100 kW) will be installed when sheeting is complete on all stages.

New agent walkway ladders and gates, and a replacement delivery end ramp will be installed (so all 8 are hydraulic) early in the new financial year.

“The aim is to have the project fully completed by end of October 2020. Importantly, all structural works within the selling area are now completed, with negligible disruption expected for all future sale days,” Ms Newall said.
