The Carroll Labor Government respects your money.
We have already made commonsense decisions to save the Budget money, like saving $2 billion on the SRL.
Labor will go further, saving the Budget a further $686 million and reducing disruption for Upfield Line passengers.
Works to remove the eight level crossing removals on the Upfield Line will be deferred and will instead be completed in 2033.
This change will allow construction to align with works to duplicate the Upfield Line.
Duplication of the Upfield Line will transform the line and deliver more services for locals.
These future upgrades and the capacity they unlock will add to the 192 additional weekly services we’ve recently added to the Craigieburn and Upfield lines.
