School fire at Greenacres, South Australia

Police are calling for information from the public after a fire damaged the Hampstead Primary School overnight.

Just after 4.30am on Friday 27 December, police and fire crews were called to the school on Muller Road at Greenacres, after alarms were activated inside a school building.

On arrival, thick smoke was billowing out of one of the main buildings.

Fire crews managed to bring the fire under control, but not before the fire destroyed one building and damaged a second.

Fire Cause Investigators will be attending this morning to examine the scene, with the fire currently being treated as suspicious.
