School fire at Southport, QLD

Police are investigating after fire destroyed part of a school at Southport this morning.

Emergency services were called to an educational facility on Smith Street around 2.20am, where they located one of the buildings fully ablaze.

The fire was brought under control, however the school-block sustained extensive damage.

At this stage the cause of the fire is unknown. Investigations are continuing.
