How much space is this new attraction expected to cover?

The full array of the 24 wave attenuator modules will have a footprint of about 75m2. They will be spread over an area of about 300m2.

What will happen to the $500,000 allocated for the Sunken Gallery? Will some be redirected to this new project?

A portion of the allocated funding has been directed to the Sculptural Wave Attenuator. The initial stage of the project is being delivered with a budget of $30,000.

Have any planning permits been submitted to DELWP for this new project? If so, has anything been approved?

Consent under the Marine and Coastal Act has been provided by the State Government and DELWP.

Why was this project preferred over the Sunken Gallery?

The project provides a range of environmental, educational and visitor benefits. It also addresses community objectives in delivering a sensitive development that protects and enhances The Dell’s natural assets.
