Search for driver of stolen car at Salisbury East, South Australia

Police are looking for a driver after a pursuit at Salisbury East overnight.

About 2.45am on Thursday 7 February, a patrol spotted a white Holden Commodore station wagon on Harris Road, Salisbury East. This vehicle was recognised as a stolen car that had evaded police earlier in the week. Again, the vehicle took off from police.

The station wagon was followed through numerous back streets bounded by McIntyre Road, Bridge Road, Smith Road and Main North Road at Salisbury East and Brahma Lodge. Police lost sight of the car and quickly established cordons in the area.

A short time later, at 3am, the car was found dumped in Norris Avenue, Salisbury East and officers narrowed the cordon.

The stolen car was seized and towed from the scene for forensic examination.

Police Dog Jax was called in to assist the search and immediately picked up a track.

Police are still searching the area and any residents with information that may assist are asked to ring 131 444.
