Search for missing paddleboarders – Nambucca Heads

A search is due to resume tomorrow (Tuesday 6 February 2024) for two paddleboarders believed to be missing at Nambucca Heads.

About 6:30pm today (Monday 5 February 2024), emergency services were called to Wellington Drive, Nambucca Heads, following reports two paddleboarders were missing.

The paddleboarders, reportedly wearing a red shirt and a yellow shirt, were last seen approximately one kilometre off-shore, between Nambucca Heads and Scotts Head.

A land and water-based search was undertaken, with the water-based search suspended at 10pm, due to dangerous surf conditions.

A multi-agency water and land-based search will resume in the morning.

Police are appealing for anyone with information about the paddleboarders, or who may have been in the area at the time, to contact Marine Area Command on 02 9320 7499 or the Nambucca Police Station on 02 6598 5399.

Anyone with information about this incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers: 1800 333 000 or https://nsw.crimestoppers.com.au. Information is treated in strict confidence. The public is reminded not to report information via NSW Police social media pages.
