Search to resume for missing kayaker at Albury

A search will resume this morning for a man who failed to return from a kayak on the Hume Dam yesterday.

About 8pm (Saturday 22 April 2023), emergency services were notified a 53-year-old man had allegedly failed to reach his destination or return home.

Officers attached to Murray River Police District have been told the Wodonga man was travelling in a blue/grey and write DCB Airforce Kayak and was planning to paddle downstream from the Hume Dam to Albury.

With assistance from PolAir, Marine Area Command, VRA Rescue NSW, NSW SES, NSW Fire & Rescue and Victoria Police a search commenced, which is set to resume about 8am today (Sunday 23 April 2023).

As the search continues, police are urging anyone who may have information to come forward.
