Second man charged after investigations into attempted murder, NSW

A second man has been charged following investigations into the attempted murder of a man in Sydney’s south earlier this year.

About 4am on Saturday 11 January 2020, a 24-year-old man suffering stab wounds arrived at St George Hospital in a critical condition.

Inquiries indicate the man had been stabbed multiple times at a unit complex in Bay Street, Brighton Le Sands, and drove himself to hospital.

Detectives from St George Police Area Command established Strike Force Alawai and on Monday 6 April 2020, a 23-year-old man was arrested at Burwood Police Station and charged him with wound with intent to murder, indictable drug supply, and deal with the proceeds of crime. He remains before the court.

About 10.50am today (Tuesday 14 April 2020), a 37-year-old man was arrested at Riverwood Police Station and charged with wound with intent to murder, and cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

He was refused bail and will appear in Central Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 15 April 2020).
