Second man charged with murder after stabbing at Dubbo

A second man has been charged with murder following an investigation into the death of a man in the state’s central west earlier this year.

Just after 12am on Wednesday 16 August 2023, emergency services were called to a home in Margaret Crescent, Dubbo, after reports of a stabbing.

On arrival, officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District located a man, aged 39, suffering multiple stab wounds to his chest.

He was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

A crime scene was established, and investigations into the death commenced under Strike Force Honefoss.

During the course of the investigations, strike force investigators charged a 39-year-old man and he remains before the courts.

Following inquiries, detectives, with the assistance of Central Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad, stopped a Toyota Camry on the Hume Highway, Liverpool, about 5.40pm yesterday (Tuesday 17 October 2023).

A 29-year-old man was arrested and taken to Liverpool Police Station, where he was charged with murder and breach of bail.

The Campbelltown man was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Wednesday 18 October 2023).
