Second man interviewed as part of investigation into fatal Keilor shooting

Homicide Squad detectives have interviewed a second man this week as part of their investigation into a fatal shooting in Keilor in September

A 23-year-old Yagoona man was arrested in the Sydney CBD on 10 October by detectives from the NSW Police Robbery and Serious Crime Squad.

He is currently in custody on unrelated NSW matters.

The man was interviewed by Homicide Squad detectives on 15 November, however he has not been charged in relation to the fatal shooting.

The investigation remains ongoing.

A 22-year-old Bradbury man was arrested with assistance from NSW Police in NSW on 25 October in relation to this matter and subsequently charged with murder.

He was extradited to Victoria and remanded in custody to face Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 14 March, 2024.

This follows an incident outside a café in Keilor on 9 September where one man was killed and one was seriously injured.

The pair was sitting outside the Old Calder Highway business about 10.20am when they were both shot.

A 50-year-old Taylors Hill man died at the scene while a 26-year-old South Morang man was conveyed to hospital with serious injuries.

No one else in the area was physically injured, however a number of other patrons were in the vicinity at the time.
