Arson Squad detectives have charged a second man as a result of their investigation into a fire at a hair salon in Balcatta on 17 September 2020.
It is alleged around 4am, the 25-year-old man gained entry into a shopping centre located on Jones Street and from there entered the hair salon.
It is further alleged the man stole items from the store before setting it alight. The fire caused an estimated $50,000 damage.
Arson Squad detectives previously charged a 22-year-old man in relation to this incident.
The 25-year-old man who is in custody on unrelated matters has been charged with:-
• Two counts of Aggravated Burglary and Commit;
• One count of Disobey Data Access Order;
• One count of Criminal Damage by Fire; and
• One count of Stealing.
He is due to appear before the Perth Magistrates Court on Monday, 30 November 2020.
