Second person charged following stabbing and assault – Wollongong

A second person has been charged following a stabbing and assault in Wollongong last week.

About 3:35pm on Wednesday 15 April 2026, emergency services were called to a unit on Corrimal Street, Wollongong following reports of a stabbing.

A 43-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for a stab wound to the abdomen before he was taken to Wollongong hospital in a stable condition.

A 37-year-old woman also suffered abrasions and was taken to Wollongong hospital for treatment.

Officers attached to Wollongong Police District responded and established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the incident.

About 7.45am on Saturday 18 April 2026, police arrested a 27-year-old man at a unit in Corrimal Street, Wollongong.

He was charged with reckless wounding and refused bail. He will appear in Wollongong Local Court on Tuesday 2 June 2026.

Following further inquiries, about 10.35am today ( Friday 24 April 2026), police were patrolling Flinders Street, Wollongong, and arrested a 27-year-old female.

She was taken to Wollongong Police station and charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and affray.

She was refused bail to appear in Bail Division Court 3 this afternoon (Friday 24 April 2026).
