Two other vehicles, a truck and van, contained single occupants.
They were transported to hospital with minor injuries for observation.
The driver of a truck, a 50-year-old Belmont man, stopped at the scene and has been assisting police with their enquiries.
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are investigating which remains ongoing.
