Second youth charged after Town Hall Station robbery, NSW

Officers from Sydney City Police Area Command have arrested a second youth over a robbery at Town Hall in August.

About 7.30pm (Sunday 23 August 2020), three men were standing on Platforms 1 and 2 when they were approached by three teenage boys.

Police will allege they stole a gold chain and cash from the three men before running from the scene.

The 18-year-old man and his friends reported the matter to police with officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command commencing an investigation.

Following an investigation by detectives from Sydney City Police Area Command, officers arrested a 16-year-old boy at a house in College Street, Balmain, about 10.30am today (Friday 16 October 2020).

He was taken to Day Street Police Station where he was charged with robbery in company. He has been refused bail and will appear before a children’s court tomorrow (Saturday 17 October 2020).

His arrest follows the earlier arrest of a 16-year-old Berowra boy about 8.40am at Parramatta on Friday 2 October 2020. He was charged with robbery in company and remains before the court.

Inquiries are continuing.
