Securing future of Effervescence Tasmania

Sarah Courtney,Minister for Tourism, Hospitality and Events

The future of Effervescence Tasmania has been cemented with a three-year funding agreement confirmed to deliver the festival in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Effervescence is a regional weekend event showcasing some of Tasmania’s best sparkling wine producers and helping to secure Tasmania’s reputation as Australia’s home of premium sparkling wine.

Originally funded through the Events Tasmania Regional Start-up Grant funding program from 2016 – 2018, this event is a wonderful example of the Government’s commitment to grow and support sustainable events which showcase all our beautiful state has to offer, while providing a vital boost to the tourism and hospitality sector

We know that COVID-19 has presented many challenges and uncertainties for our event organisers, which is why I’m so delighted that funding of $85,000 will be provided to deliver Effervescence for the next three years.

The Tasmanian Government invests in events and festivals because they are an important part of our way of life, and our visitor economy which support local businesses and jobs.

We will continue to be a strong supporter of our world-class events sector and work to attract, retain and grow events that will drive economic growth in every region of the State.
