Security guard assaulted during armed robbery in Kingsford

An investigation is underway after a security guard was assaulted during an armed robbery in Sydney’s east this morning.

About 3am (Thursday 12 November 2020), police were called to a licensed venue on Anzac Parade, Kingsford, following reports of an armed robbery.

Police have been told three males – armed with a knife – entered the venue, before threatening staff and a security guard.

The security guard, a 32-year-old man, was assaulted, before the males stole a cash register and left in a vehicle, described as a silver hatchback.

The injured man was taken to Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment of a head injury.

No patrons were injured during the incident.

Officers from Eastern Beaches Police Area Command established a crime scene, which has been examined by forensic police.

As inquiries continue, detectives would like to speak to three males, not further described, who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
