Australia Day is a day for acknowledging community and national spirit where the nation comes together to celebrate what’s great about Australia.
One of the ways we celebrate this occasion here in the Macleay is through the presentation of Kempsey Shire Council’s annual Australia Day Awards.
The Awards are the highest honour Council can bestow to publicly acknowledge the many local heroes within our community, whose dedication and contributions often otherwise go unnoticed.
It’s been another tough year, but the resilience and character of the wider Macleay community has been on display. It is important to take the time to reflect on and acknowledge the friends, neighbours and family members who have made an impact on us this year through their contributions.
Council cannot acknowledge our heroes without your help. Send in your nominations for individuals who have inspired you through their achievements and who will challenge us all to make our own contribution to creating a better Australia in the years to come.
