Sentimental jewellery stolen from home in Moonee Ponds

Moonee Valley Crime Investigation Unit detectives have released vision and images to appeal for information following a burglary at a Moonee Ponds home earlier this month.

It is understood the offender slashed the fly screen and kicked in the rear door to gain entry to the property on Hopetoun Street between 4.30pm and 6.15pm on 1 July.

Police were told the sentimental jewellery belonging the victim’s deceased daughter were stolen during the burglary.

Investigators have released CCTV and images of a man who may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man is described as being of middle eastern appearance, aged in his 50’s, solid build, black and grey hair with a thin goatee.

He was wearing a fluro yellow and dark jacket, brown shirt, dark pants and white runners.
