A police sergeant has been charged following an internal investigation.
The male sergeant, from Southern Metro Region, was charged with two counts of summary assault.
The alleged incident took place in November 2019 while the officer was on duty.
He has been suspended with pay and will be summoned to appear at a magistrates’ court at a later date.
