Series of commercial burglaries cracked by detectives in Geelong

Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives have charged a 21-year-old man following an alleged series of commercial burglaries in the Geelong area.

It is alleged the burglaries occurred at 14 businesses in Geelong, Northshore, Newtown, Norlane and Lara areas between 30 September and 13 December.

A Corio man has been charged with eight counts of burglary, five counts of handle stolen goods, eight counts of burglary, possess cannabis and commit indictable offence whilst on bail.

He has been remanded to appear at the Geelong Magistrates’ Court on 23 December.

Police have seized more than 80 items of stolen property including skateboards, sunglasses, building materials and clothing.

Detectives are working through the stolen property in the hope to return it to the rightful owners.
