Serious assault investigation at Springfield

Ipswich detectives are investigating a disturbance at Springfield overnight where two men sustained serious injuries

At around 9pm, police responded to the Greenway Circuit residence where they located a 33-year-old man with serious injuries.

Investigations reveal the 33-year-old man attended the address with a 28-year-old man where an altercation took place between them and a 32-year-old male resident.

The 28-year-old man also sustained serious injuries during the altercation which allegedly involved bladed weapons.

The 32-year-old resident left prior to police arrival in a vehicle.

Police located the vehicle and successfully deployed a tyre deflation device before taking the man into custody.

The 33-year-old man remains in the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition.

The 28-year-old and 32-year-old are assisting police with their enquiries.

Investigations are ongoing.
