Mandurah Detectives have charged a man in relation to a number of incidents in the Mandurah area in the early hours of Sunday 8 March 2020.

Around 12.40am, a male in his 30’s was inside his own vehicle driven by a man known to him. The vehicle was driven to a carpark at the intersection of Old Coast Road and Mary Street Halls Head where the two exited the vehicle. It will be alleged, a physical altercation occurred between the two resulting in the victim falling to the ground and striking his head on the ground. The male dragged the victim towards the vehicle and repeatedly attempted to place the victim into the boot of the vehicle, dropping him several times onto the carpark surface. After being unsuccessful, it will be further alleged, the man left the victim in the car park, unresponsive and drove away in a reckless manner. The victim was located several hours later by a member of the public still unresponsive and he was conveyed to Royal Perth Hospital by St John Ambulance. The victim underwent emergency surgery and remains in a serious but stable condition.

Around 1.20am, a woman in her 60’s approached a man who had been driving a vehicle on Doonda Street Mandurah. The man began yelling at the victim and a female neighbour also in her 60’s, approached the two of them. It will be alleged the man assaulted both women by striking them to their heads, causing them to fall to the ground. It will be further alleged that the man then kicked the women once they fell to the ground. As a result of the assaults, both women lost consciousness and received significant facial injuries. The man then left the scene. A short time later, it will be alleged, the man attended a service station and purchased cigarettes using a debit card belonging the male victim from earlier, before leaving the scene.
