SH6 Whakapuaka, has been partially opened after the fatal crash which occurred at 10am this morning.
The road is down to one lane and will be so for some time.
Police are letting a back-log of traffic through the area, so there will be significant delays.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
