Police are investigating a serious two-vehicle crash on Algona Road at 3:40pm today.
A late-model Toyota Hilux driven by a 34 year old man travelling in a southerly direction collided with an early-model Toyota Prado travelling in a northerly direction driven by a 54 year old man. Both drivers were the sole occupants of their vehicles. .
The impact caused significant damage to both vehicles, with one of the cars catching fire after the impact. Both occupants received medical attention on scene and were later conveyed to the Royal Hobart Hospital.
Police are investigating the cause of the crash. Anyone who witnessed the incident or has information that may support the investigation, are asked to contact Kingston Police Station on 131444 or report information anonymously to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
