Serious single vehicle traffic crash at Woodstock

Forensic Crash Unit are investigating a single vehicle crash that occurred today (November 14) on Flinders Highway Woodstock via Townsville.

Preliminary investigations indicate that around 2:40pm a 3 tonne Toyota Dyna truck towing a car trailer containing a shell of a VW Golf was travelling east from Charters Towers along Flinders Highway.

Upon approaching the intersection of Giru Woodstock Road, the truck has blown a tyre causing it to drift onto the incorrect side of the road, hitting into a guard rail and causing it to spin before coming to rest.

The passenger side of the vehicle sustained the most damage resulting in the 69-year-old female passenger sustaining severe injuries as a result.

The 70-year-old male driver suffered severe shock but was not physically injured.
