Service Australia’s mobile service centre on road to Wodonga

Services Australia is boosting support for the community of Wodonga, Victoria with our Mobile Service Centre providing on the ground assistance from Wednesday 26 August.

Our Mobile Service Centre will be deployed in the Northern Victorian town to assist the community in accessing combined Centrelink, Medicare and Child Support online services.

This will ensure the Victorian community can continue to access vital government services from one convenient location.

Services Australia General Manager Hank Jongen said the 20 tonne truck is equipped with the same technology as any Centrelink or Medicare service centre, including self-service facilities.

‘We know most customers prefer to complete their business online, however we know some of our customers require extra support to get online to be able to access our wide range of services,’ Mr Jongen said.

‘I’m pleased we’re able to have our team reach out to provide Wodonga residents with this extra support at this difficult time.

‘You can do most of your Centrelink and all of your Medicare business online and we encourage everyone who is confident with online options to use these channels.

‘This includes reporting income, uploading documents, claiming payments, managing appointments, changing your address or bank account details and many other common transactions.

‘These mobile offices reinforce our commitment to delivering the best services to all Australians, regardless of where they live.

‘Our Mobile Service Centre will be available to provide face-to-face services to those who require more personalised or intensive support.

‘We’re here to help and we’ll support people to make sure they’re confident in completing their business online.

‘You don’t need an appointment, and it’s free – so anyone who needs assistance will be able to visit the team aboard.

‘All services will be offered with strict COVID-19 safety precautions in place,’ Mr Jongen said.

People can visit the Mobile Service Centre from Wednesday 26 August located at Junction Square, Elgin Boulevard, Wodonga VIC 3690, from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
