Sex Crimes Squad charge three men after two women were allegedly assaulted in separate home invasions

Sex Crimes Squad detectives have charged three men after two women were allegedly assaulted during separate home invasions in Sydney’s south west this week.

About 12am on Tuesday 29 September 2026, police responded to reports of a home invasion at a property on Marinea Street, Arncliffe.

Police were told a group of unknown men forced entry into the property before allegedly threatening a 31-year-old woman with a knife, sexually assaulting her, and stealing money.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

About 12.30am on Thursday 1 September 2026, police responded to reports of a home invasion at unit on Jacobs Street, Bankstown.

Police were told three unknown men forced entry into the unit before allegedly assaulting a 32-year-old woman and stealing money.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Officers attached to Bankstown Police Area Command and St George Police Area Command commenced inquiries before State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad combined the investigations under Strike Force Forela.

Following extensive inquiries, about 7.45pm yesterday (Thursday 1 October 2026) strike force detectives – with assistance from Public Order and Riot Squad, Southwest Metropolitan Operations Support Group and local police – executed three search warrants in Belmore, Punchbowl and Greenacre.

A 20-year-old man was arrested in Belmore and taken to Burwood Police Station, where he was charged with aggravated break and enter & commit serious indictable offence-deprive liberty, aggravated robbery and deprives person of liberty, two counts of choke person intent to commit indictable offence, common assault and use offensive weapon in company with intent indictable offence.

In Punchbowl, a 19-year-old man was arrested and taken to Campsie Police Station, where he was charged with aggravated break and enter & commit serious indictable offence-deprive liberty, two counts of choke person intent to commit indictable offence, two counts of aggravated sex assault-deprive liberty, aggravated robbery and deprives person of liberty, common assault, use offensive weapon in company with intent indictable offence and fail to comply digital evidence access order direction.

An 18-year-old man was arrested in Greenacre and taken to Bankstown Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter & commit serious indict offence-deprive liberty, aggravated robbery and deprives person of liberty, two counts of choke person intent to commit indictable offence, common assault and use offensive weapon in company with intent indictable offence.

The 20-year-old man was refused bail to appear at Burwood Local Court today (Friday 2 October 2026).
