Shape your Council’s priorities for 2024/25

Budget consultation

What would you like to see the City of Monash focus on as we plan for our 2024-25 annual budget?

We have opened consultation for our 2024-25 budget and annual planning process to explore this question.

Each year we prepare an annual budget that considers funding services to the community, as well as investment in works like roads, footpaths, and other infrastructure. To ensure this budget responds to our community, Monash Council is committed to seeking feedback early in the budgeting process.

Visit Shape Monash before 19 November to:

  • Give input on the issues and projects you think we should advocate to other levels of government on
  • Provide ideas to limit expenditure or increase revenue via our online budgeting tool
  • Submit a detailed proposal on something you think we could fund, with the opportunity to present this directly to Councillors later in the year.

Monash Mayor, Cr Tina Samardzija, is keen to hear from the community to help inform Council’s decision marking.

“Determining Council’s budget for the year and what services and projects should be funded is one of the most important decisions Councillors make and requires community input to make sure we’re getting it right.

“We want our decisions on funding local roads, footpaths, sporting facilities, playspaces and other infrastructure to reflect what is important to the community.

“I’m especially excited about the opportunity for community members, groups, and organisations to pitch a proposal for funding directly to Councillors. We re-introduced this last year, and it was great to hear from so many passionate people and groups with great ideas,” said Cr Samardzija.
