Sharp looks and handling for new Toyota C-HR GR Sport

**First GR Sport model to be offered in Australia**

**Dynamic design elements, inside and out**

**Sportier suspension delivers more dynamic driving experience**

Toyota’s stylish C-HR SUV has received a sporty boost as the first model in Australia to receive the GR Sport makeover.

Inspired by Toyota’s performance-focused GR models, the new GR Sport variant elevates the front-drive C-HR GXL, adding a hybrid powertrain as well as dynamic design elements, a sportier suspension and larger 19-inch alloy wheels.

The new C-HR GR Sport arrives in dealerships today, priced from $37,6651.

Toyota’s in-house performance division TOYOTA GAZOO Racing has injected its passion into the new model, starting with an aggressive sports body kit that sets the new model apart from the rest of the C-HR family.

The front design, reminiscent of the GR Yaris, incorporates a more powerful look with a squared front bumper featuring an aerodynamic lip, a bold lower grille, thick horizontal bar and revised fog lamp bezels that sit lower than on the standard C-HR.

Sporty upgrades extend to exclusive 19-inch dark smoked alloy wheels with 225/45 tyres, high-grade LED lighting front and rear, and piano black finish for the rear lip spoiler, mirror caps and door garnishes.

The striking exterior is completed by white brake callipers with GR logos on the front, and GR emblems at the front, side, and rear.

C-HR GR Sport adopts sharper driving dynamics with revised suspension components that lower the car by 15mm overall to 1550mm. It also sits 12mm closer to the ground with a running ground clearance of 125mm.

Shock absorber damping force, coil-spring rates and stabiliser bars have been tuned to improve control of body roll and pitch.

A new centre brace boosts body rigidity and contributes to a more direct steering response.

The sporty theme continues in the cabin with body-hugging black leather-accented front seats, leather-wrapped steering wheel, dark silver highlights around the instrument panel and door garnishes, piano black surrounds for the centre console and power-window switches, and a GR-branded ignition button.

Toyota Australia Vice President Sales and Marketing Sean Hanley said the C-HR GR Sport delivers an even more compelling, youthful and spirited appeal to the distinctive SUV.

“GR Sport brings an exciting new flavour to our GR brand, offering distinctive styling and dynamic enhancements that are inspired by the outright performance of our thoroughbred GR Yaris and GR Supra,” Mr Hanley said.

In addition to the 90kW (combined) hybrid powertrain, standard features in the C-HR GR Sport include satellite navigation, dual-zone automatic climate control, auto-dimming rear-view mirror, electronic park brakes, rain-sensing wipers, keyless smart entry and start, and a 4.2-inch colour multi-information display. The in-car entertainment system consists of a six-speaker multimedia system with 8-inch touchscreen display.

Toyota Safety Sense technologies include a pre-collision safety system2 that can detect pedestrians night and day as well as cyclists in daylight. Other electronic driver assistance supports turning at intersections2, emergency steering2, lane tracing with steering support2 and road-sign recognition (certain speed signs)2.

Additional safety features include blind-spot monitor2, rear cross-traffic alert2 and a reversing camera.

C-HR GR Sport will be available in five colours3 plus the $4501 option of a black roof on three of the paint hues: Crystal Pearl, Hornet Yellow or Feverish Red.

C-HR GR Sport benefits from the Toyota Service Advantage4 capped price servicing that costs just $200 per service with 12-month/15,000km intervals.
