The weather is heating up which means the Central Goldfields Shire Outdoor Pool Season is almost here.
Residents will be able to cool off at any one of our three outdoor pools over the summer months.
The Maryborough, Talbot and Dunolly outdoor swimming pools are opening from Sunday 6 December, 2020.
Central Goldfields Shire Mayor Cr Chris Meddows-Taylor encouraged community members to take advantage of the outdoor pools this summer.
“Our outdoor pools are fantastic assets for the community. They provide a perfect social hub for our children, parents, families and friends.
“We are once again facing a hot and dry summer and where better to cool off than your local outdoor swimming pool,” he said.
In the lead up to summer, the Maryborough Outdoor Pool underwent major upgrades including:
- Shade sails installed over the toddlers’ octagonal pool and two grassed area adjacent to the main pool.
- Upgrades to the plant room to ensure it meets all current safety and operating standards which will also see the water treatment system improved.
- Artificial turf installed under the existing roof structure next to the toddlers’ pool
The $216,000 improvements were funded as part of Council’s 2019/2020 Budget.
2020/21 outdoor pool opening hours and fees are as follows:
Maryborough Swimming Pool
OPENING HOURS:
1 to 8pm
School days, school holidays and weekends
Christmas Day – closed
CASUAL ENTRY:
Child – $3
Adult – $4
Family – $14
SEASON TICKETS:
Adult – $65
Child- $55
Family – $125
Season ticket holders can access Maryborough, Dunolly and Talbot outdoor pools.

3 to 7pm – school days
1 to 7pm – school holidays and weekends
Christmas Day – closed
CASUAL ENTRY

Family (Immediate) – $125

ALL POOLS WILL ONLY OPEN WHEN FORECAST TEMPERATURE IS 25˚ OR OVER
The outdoor pool season will close on Monday 8 March, 2021.
