Shoalhaven City Council is launching a new program this month called Community Voices, which aims to give community members an opportunity to get together and talk about what they love about where they live, and future opportunities in our towns and villages.
Over the next twelve months staff from Council’s Community Connections team will visit each town and village in the Shoalhaven to meet with interested community members.
The program will begin with community visits to Culburra Beach, Orient Point, Kioloa and Bawley Point on the second and fourth Wednesdays in April.
Shoalhaven City Council’s Director City Lifestyles, Jane Lewis, is encouraging community members to meet with Council’s representatives to participate in the program.
“This is your opportunity to share ideas that could help your community thrive in the future”, said Ms Lewis.
“Council is interested to hear what you like about your community and your ideas and suggestions for the future.
“These discussions will help better understand what’s important in our communities,” Ms Lewis stated.
“The Community Voices program continues Council’s focus on engaging with a broad range of community members”, Ms Lewis said.
At each community visit Council staff will establish a pop-up stall. The community can drop in anytime between 10.30am – 12.30pm on Wednesday 14 April in Culburra Beach or 2.00pm – 4.00pm Orient Point.
Locations of future village visits are listed in the schedule on Council’s website and will be updated every three months.
