Shoalhaven Dan Murphy Community Grant Program Is Now Open

Shoalhaven City Council is pleased to announce applications have opened for the 2020 Dan Murphy Grant Program. The program provides grants up to $10,000 to support the training and employment of the East Nowra community.

Non-Government community organisations and local service providers in the Shoalhaven that offer employment and training opportunities for the East Nowra community are encouraged to apply. Applications need to demonstrate a community need for the program and program sustainability, with a focus on increasing individual and community capacity.

Coronavirus has had a significant impact on our community. We recognise the risk to the community at this time and the need to provide opportunities for community members to maintain social connections. Organisations who are applying to deliver programs that provide important social connection opportunities must use methods that will deliver programs through online or other approaches that maintain social distancing. Digital methods of delivery are highly encouraged.

Previous recipients of the Dan Murphy Grant are Nowra Family Support, Cullunghutti Aboriginal Child and Family Centre, Kids Korner Combined Occasional Care Centre, Coast and Country Community Services and Northcott.

Applications are open until 5pm on Tuesday the 12th May 2020.
