Shoalhaven Pet Expo Is A Pet Lovers Delight

Shoalhaven City Council’s Animal Shelter’s inaugural Pet Expo is approaching fast, as the Shelter makes finishing touches to the event. Shelter staff are looking forward to celebrating all things related to pet ownership, whilst highlighting local businesses.

The one-day event is hoping to unite Shoalhaven pet lovers whilst bringing visitors to the region to show them what the Shoalhaven has to offer pet owners. The event will see local animal focused businesses, animal rescues, retail stalls and food trucks pack into the Nowra Showground in what will be a pet lovers delight.

Mayor Amanda Findley is looking forward to the day, in particular the Best Dressed Dog competition.

“The expo is a real celebration of animals, aimed at ensuring our residents get the best out of having a pet in the Shoalhaven.” Mayor Amanda Findley said.

“Pet owners are encouraged to bring their pets along and find out all they need to know about pet ownership in the region.

“The Shoalhaven Animal Shelter will have details on their animals currently up for adoption, as well as lots of competitions and prizes across the day. My favourite competition will be the best dressed pet.

“Shoalhaven City’s Rangers will also be on hand to address any questions and concerns residents may have about animals in the region.” Clr Findley said.

The free family fun event will also have dog displays from agility to explosive detection demonstrations. The Pet Expo will get underway from 10am until 3pm on Sunday the 13th of October.
