Shooting Australia releases junior National Team selection criteria for 2022 World Championships

Shooting Australia has today released the Junior National Team selection criteria for the 2022 World Championships, with the ISSF having only recently announced the inclusion of Juniors in this year’s events. The Shotgun World Championships will take place in Osijek, Croatia between 22 September and 11 October while the combined Rifle and Pistol World Championships is set to take place 12-25 October in Cairo, Egypt.

Shooting Australia’s Chief Executive Officer Adam Sachs says “an amazing opportunity has presented itself to our junior cohorts within the shotgun, pistol and rifle space. Shooting Australia is excited to offer an endorsed domestic selection series for Junior National Team selections that will run in parallel to the remaining World Championships selection events for our Senior National Teams.

We encourage all eligible junior athletes and their support networks to read and make sure they understand the 2022 ISSF Junior World Championships Team Selection Criteria, noting that the selection events are approaching rapidly. Engagement in these events will be critical for athletes to record a ‘selection score’. We are very happy to hear from anyone that might have questions about the selection criteria and process as we continue towards our 2022 World Championships campaign.”
