Show your support for small business

As restrictions ease and shops open up, the Campbelltown community is being called on to back local small businesses this November and shop local as part of Council’s Own It campaign.

Each day, Council will feature a local small business on its social media pages and advertisements will be placed across Campbelltown and online encouraging people to shop locally.

“Small business is a vital part of the local economy, employing residents, providing local services and supporting the local community,” Mayor George Brticevic said.

“These past few months have been a challenge for many so now is the time for everyone to get out and think about small business when looking for goods and services,” Cr Brticevic said.

“You don’t have to spend money to show your support. You can leave a positive review or share the social media pages of your favourite local businesses,” he said.

“Throughout the lockdown, we also saw the generous spirit of many small businesses supporting those in need so this is a great opportunity to give back.”

This year’s program follows on from the success of last year, which saw more than 7500 unique social media engagements with the promotion from the community.

Businesses are also encouraged to sign up to Council’s online business directory.
