Australia hosted the first Australia-Singapore Cyber and Digital Senior Officials Dialogue on 30 July 2026. Both countries share a strong interest in ensuring digital technologies are safe, trusted and economically beneficial, while maintaining open and innovative digital economies.
The dialogue built on:
- the Australia-Singapore Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation on Artificial Intelligence
- the Australia-Singapore Memorandum of Understanding on Cyber Security Cooperation
- commitments under the refreshed Australia-Singapore Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Discussion covered:
- cyber and digital policy priorities
- strengthening national AI ecosystems
- building resilient digital infrastructure and AI industry growth
- progressing bilateral cyber cooperation
- updates on multilateral and regional developments and collaboration.
At the dialogue, Australia and Singapore agreed to:
- strengthen links between Singapore and Australia’s AI ecosystems
- identify new opportunities to cooperate on AI adoption, digital infrastructure, investment, innovation ecosystems and subsea cable resilience
- share information and collaborate on AI safety, assurance and governance to support the trusted and responsible development of AI
- enhance cyber security cooperation and coordinated regional engagement to bolster cyber resilience and capacity-building.
