Single Vehicle Crash – Forth Road Don

At approximately 12.30pm today a single vehicle crash closed a section of Forth Road Don for several hours.

Traffic was diverted whilst Emergency Service Crews processed and cleared the scene.

A single female occupant of the vehicle was treated at the scene by Ambulance Tasmania before being transferred to the North West Regional Hospital with serious leg and head injuries.

Sgt Jareth Anderson of Devonport Police stated “The high number of serious crashes across the state is of serious concern and police urge all motorists to be vigilant on our roads and ensure you arrive safely home to those who matter most.”

“Tasmania Police are working closely with our road safety partners to develop the best policing strategies and educational messages for motorists, but we need the community to do their part and take care on our roads.”

The cause of the crash is unknown at this stage and police are appealing for anyone who may have observed a grey Mitsubishi Triton duel cab, 2002 model, driving on Forth Road Don around the time of the Crash to contact Devonport Police on 64784011.
