The Elder Conservatorium Guitar Ensemble.
Classical guitar students from the University of Adelaide’s Elder Conservatorium of Music will present a diverse program of solo and chamber music as part of this year’s Guitarathon.
Under the direction of senior lecturer Dr Oliver Fartach-Naini undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as up-and-coming students from the Elder Conservatorium’s Open Music Academy, will perform in Elder Hall on Sunday 6 November as part of this year’s Guitarathon.
Now in its fifth year, Guitarathon is a free six-hour concert packed with gems of the classical guitar’s rich repertoire.
Dr Oliver Fartach-Naini said: “As the end of the university year approaches, this is a fun way for our students to showcase what they have been working on.
“This is a great way for people to get a taste of what classical guitar has to offer, without having to commit to a timeframe or even paying for a ticket. People can come and go as they please, with gourmet burgers from Daisy Burger and wine available to purchase.
“This is a celebration of the University of Adelaide’s thriving classical guitar community.”

The stylistically diverse program includes works by Johann Sebastian Bach, Mauro Giuliani, Francisco Tarrega, Carlo Domeniconi, Philip Houghton, Enrique Granados, Máximo Diego Pujol, Alan Thomas, Richard Charlton, Nikita Koshkin, Paulo Bellinati, James Rawley, Gary Ryan, Anne Cawrse and many more.
The non-stop event will culminate in a performance of the Elder Conservatorium Guitar Ensemble featuring the combined talents of Emanuel Auciello, Megan Robson, Connor Whyte, Eduardo Ruiz, Jack Daws, Callum Goodhand, Alexandra Shepherd, Caleb Lavery-Brook, Queenie Li, Alyssa Verbart, Ari Michael-Roubos, Elroy Peters, and James Rawley.
Performances will start at 4 pm, with each performance lasting anywhere between 15 to 60 minutes.
