Skateboarder dies after being hit by SUV at Waterloo

Emergency services were called to the intersection of Raglan and Pitt streets at Waterloo shortly before 5pm (Sunday 8 October 2023), and found a man – believed to be aged in his 50s – suffering critical injuries.

Officers from South Sydney Police Area Command have been told the man had been skateboarding along Raglan Street and was struck by a SUV as it exited the Pitt Street roundabout.

The driver stopped and rendered assistance until NSW Ambulance paramedics arrived and transported the man to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital; however, he died a short time later.

An investigation is now underway by South Sydney Police.
