The Victorian Government has announced $500,000 in funding to enable planning, consultation and detailed designs to construct the remaining 15 kms of Skyline Road, under its Investment Fast Track Fund.
This funding will support Murrindindi and Mansfield Shire Councils to complete necessary planning work ahead of sealing Skyline Road’s gravel surface. As part of this Project, we’ll soon be undertaking survey and design works on Skyline Road, Maintongoon Road and Sonnberg Drive. It is intended that these preliminary design activities will aid in our application for future grant funding to seal these roads.
This project forms part of the broader Lake Eildon Masterplan and is an important step in turning the Lake Eildon area into a premier tourism destination. Improved road access will enhance Eildon’s appeal for tourism operators, food and beverage businesses and organisers of large-scale events.
