COVID Cases in SA
There have been 3,070 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 24,792 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm one male in his 40s and one in his 50s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 229 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 16 people in ICU, with one person requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 174 people are fully vaccinated, 49 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and six have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

The latest genome sampling has found around 93.8% of samples taken were BA.2.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 7,854 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is an 19.7% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,747 PCR tests were positive, while 1,323 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
