COVID Cases in SA
There have been 2,590 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 21,514 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 50s, a man in his 80s, a woman in her 50s and a woman in her 70s, who tested positive for COVID-19, have passed away.
There are 91 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 11 people in ICU, and two people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 48 people are fully vaccinated, 18 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 25 have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

Variants
Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 12,845 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 1.5% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,918 PCR tests were positive, while 672 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 94.8% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92.2% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 69% of eligible South Australians and 58.7% of South Australians aged 16+.
