COVID Cases in SA
There have been 3,683 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 21,620 active cases in South Australia.
Sadly, SA Health can confirm one woman in her 70s, one woman in her 80s, and one woman in her 90s, who tested positive for COVID-19, has passed away.
There are 222 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including six people in ICU, with one person ventilated. Of those hospitalised, 117 people had received three or more vaccine doses, 101 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and four have an unknown vaccination status.
Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

The latest genome sampling has found around 94.9% of samples taken were BA.2.

COVID testing
Yesterday, 8,805 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 33% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 1,716 PCR tests were positive, while 1,967 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
Vaccination update
Currently 95.5% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 93.5% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 71.8% of eligible South Australians and 66.1% of South Australians aged 16+.
