COVID Cases in SA

There have been 3,724 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 23,282 active cases in South Australia.

There are 147 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including seven people in ICU, and three people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 93 people are fully vaccinated, 50 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and four have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found around 48% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 13,679 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is an 1.1% increase on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,658 PCR tests were positive, while 1,066 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 95% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine and 92.6% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 69.6% of eligible South Australians and 60.6% of South Australians aged 16+.
