COVID Cases in SA

There have been 4,483 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 33,995 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 50s and a woman over 100, who tested positive for COVID-19 have passed away.

There are 184 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including eight people in ICU. Of those hospitalised, 132 people are fully vaccinated, 47 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and five have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases has been readjusted.

    Variants

    The latest genome sampling has found around 60% of samples taken were BA.2.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 14,886 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 9.1% decrease on the previous 24 hours. Of the test results returned yesterday, 2,946 PCR tests were positive, while 1,537 positive Rapid Antigen Test results were reported.
