COVID Cases in SA

There have been 1,723 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 18,741 active cases in South Australia.

Sadly, SA Health can confirm a man in his 80s, who tested positive for COVID-19, has passed away.

There are 233 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 21 people in ICU and five people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 144 people are fully vaccinated, 32 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 57 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

    Variants

    Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 97% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 10,079 people received a PCR test in South Australia, which is a 44.4% increase on the previous 24 hours.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 94.3% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine, 90.9% have received their second dose. Boosters have been administered to 59.3% of eligible South Australians and 41.8% of South Australians aged 18+.
