COVID Cases in SA

There have been 2,062 new cases of COVID-19 reported in South Australia today. There are currently 33,290 active cases in South Australia.

There are 278 people with COVID-19 in hospital, including 24 people in ICU and six people requiring a ventilator. Of those hospitalised, 162 people are fully vaccinated, 42 people are either unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, and 74 have an unknown vaccination status.

Due to a reconfiguration of the data, the total number of cases have been readjusted.

    Variants

    Regular genome sampling is taken to monitor the levels of Omicron within South Australia. 95% of samples taken returned an Omicron result.

    Yesterday, 1,344,185 check-ins were made using the COVID Safe Check in app.

    COVID testing

    Yesterday, 12,316 people received a PCR test in South Australia, a 1.9% decrease on the previous 24 hours.

    Vaccination update

    Currently 93.9% of eligible South Australians aged 12+ have received their first dose of the vaccine, 90.2% have received their second dose and there were 11,057 booster shots given yesterday bringing the total booster shots to 463,497.
